This boy used to rely on food stamps and 20 years later, he’s worth $9 billion.

I’m shocked.

Let’s call this boy J.

J’s story is nothing short of incredible.

To me, it’s an inspiring journey that shows anything is possible. Even if you come from a home where everything seems out of reach, you can aim for the stars and still reach them.

The Early Beginnings

J grew up in a communist small town in Europe that was war-stricken. His home didn’t have running water, and winters were harsh.

He once said, “Our school didn’t even have an inside bathroom. Imagine the winter, -20°C, where little kids have to walk across the parking lot to use the bathroom.”

When J was 16, he and his mother immigrated to the United States, leaving behind the unsettling environment they were in.

They settled in Mountain View, California, living in a small apartment and relying on welfare and food stamps.

Moving to the US is a dream for many because it’s the “land of opportunities” Unfortunately, most immigrants have to start from scratch and that’s exactly what J did.
